MISSION STATEMENT
Aware that graduation is only the beginning of professional development, the Africana Studies Alumni Affinity Group is dedicated to the continued success of its graduates. The Association shall serve as the forum of interaction between the graduates and the Africana Studies Department. A network of alumni will be created to facilitate the pursuit of individual professional success and in turn benefit the community as a whole.
OBJECTIVES
A. Provide the critical link between alumni, graduating students, and the African Studies Department.
B. Provide networking capabilities to members in their quest for better job opportunities.
C. Provide members with updated information on current and planned school activities and encourage their continued involvement.
D. Provide cannels for internship programs, resource speakers, seminars, and job workshops
MEMEBERSHIP and DUES
A. Eligible members include:
- Alumni of the CSUDH Africana Studies including Baccalaureate and;
- Current students who have filed an “intent to graduate” with the Africana Studies;
- Current or former member of the Faculty of Africana Studies.
B. The period of membership shall be on a fiscal year basis from July 1st to June 30th.
C. ASAA Executive Board shall determine annual membership dues.
D. Annual dues must be satisfied in order to maintain one’s membership in good standing.
