Alumni Volunteers in Action
What would I be doing?
We are looking for
alumni for several different volunteer positions.
Note: All
Volunteer Positions include requirement to receive Volunteer Orientation
Training
Event Assistant:
Perhaps you would like to help out at a
social event. Joining an event committee affords you a good first
introduction to the Alumni Volunteers in Action program. You can
give a few hours on the day of the event, enjoying yourself while
contributing to a quality program.

Be “behind the scenes” at events, get to meet new
people, free admission to events, and satisfaction of helping to
put on quality events. |
Event Associate:
Throughout the year there are different
opportunities to promote the Alumni Association and the University to
current and prospective students at events like Day at Dominguez,
Commencement Fair, Job Fairs, New Student Orientations and other
activities. And we are always in need of volunteers to help with the
end of year festivities like Honors Convocation and Commencement.

Knowledgeable about the Association, its mission,
accomplishments, and the benefits of joining.

Alumni
Ambassador:
Do you like to speak in front of
people? Would you like to represent the CSUDH at recruiting events?
Becoming an
Alumni Ambassador involves a
greater time commitment, but it gives you an opportunity to network with
a variety of people and share positive experiences about your University
experience. This highly recognized position requires another level of
application and interview. You will also be required to attend a
training workshop.

Tasks |
Speak before Community Groups, Outreach Events,
and other events as needed, about the University, the Alumni,
and the benefit of your education. |

Expectations regarding number of hours and times |

The events will usually be after 5 p.m. or on weekends, although
there may occasionally be opportunity during business hours.
·
About 2 hours time will be involved in each event.
