Why Do Your Master's Degree with HUX?
Traditional M.A. programs require attendance at the host university, and typically only accept full-time students who are able to put aside the rest of their lives while they pursue the degree. On the other hand, many online graduate programs lack qualified faculty, may not be fully accredited by a regional accrediting agency, don't provide a path for those lacking internet access or experience, and may fail to live up to their promises.

The Humanities Master of Arts (HUX) program combines the best of traditional graduate education with the best of distance learning. It offers a quality, non-residential advanced degree program to students worldwide regardless of their ability to get online. If you have regular mail service, you can do a degree with HUX. HUX allows students to adapt the program to their interests and goals. It provides the kind of broad exposure to the Humanities (history, literature, philosophy, art, and music) that is so useful in preparing one to think clearly, express oneself thoughtfully, and be ready to work competently in many different contexts. People who want to teach at the secondary or community college level, or to enhance their current teaching career, have found that their schools accept a HUX degree with sufficient units in one of our disciplines in place of a philosophy master's degree, a history master's degree, an art history master's degree, a music master's degree, or a literature master's degree. Students interested in independent study at distance find HUX to be a good fit. HUX faculty and staff are highly qualified and care about their students.
The HUX program has been a leader in distance education at the MA level since its inception in 1974. The last 30 years have brought many improvements, including the addition of online technologies. But HUX maintains a firm commitment to provide a graduate education in the Humanities area of the liberal arts to anyone who meets its basic academic requirements, regardless of his or her computer experience.
