Humanities External Degree- Students Eligibility
As a Humanities External Degree Student, you are eligible to borrow a William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan for up to the full amount of your registration fees. Students must enroll in a minimum of four (4) graduate units per term, maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.0, and have no incomplete grades. When a loan is certified for the current academic year, it will be based on full time (8 units) enrollment plus 1.5% of the loan amount. For example, a loan request for $1240.00 would be increased by 1.5% (rounded up to $19.00) for a revised award of $1259.00. The 1.5% increase is based on the loan fees, which are deducted from your loan processing. The new result will be $1240.00 to cover your registration fees.
Loan Entrance Counseling: Students receiving a loan for the first time, or who took a leave for one year or more are required to complete and return the "William D. Ford Direct Loan Rights and Responsibilities checklist" to the Financial Aid office. You may fulfill the requirement online at the internet web site http://ed.gov/DirectLoan/counsel/.
