AD&D Insurance
The Standard
Life Insurance Company (The Standard) is the CSU’s
insurance carrier for employer-paid basic term life and accidental death and
dismemberment (AD&D) insurance. The CSU offers
this employer-paid insurance to eligible employees
within specified employee categories. The amount of coverage varies by employee
category.

The Standard’s
basic term life and AD&D insurance plan contains
a number of enhanced coverage features including:
Effective Date of Coverage
Eligible employees are automatically
enrolled in The Standard's basic term life and AD&D insurance. The
effective date for basic term life and AD&D insurance is the first
of the month following appointment.
Premiums
automatically cease when an employee goes on:
Premiums will
commence once the employee returns to active pay status.

To be eligible
for CSU-paid basic term life and AD&D insurance:
Once an
employee has acquired eligibility and has been enrolled in The Standard plan,
he/she may continue enrollment during subsequent continuous appointments of at
least half-time regardless of the duration of the new appointment.
