Evaluation - Fee Waiver Program

At the close of each semester, the appropriate administrator in the Human Resources Management Office shall conduct an evaluation of the performance in courses taken on the Fee Waiver Program. This may include a review of the grade(s) received for the course(s) taken. If performance in the course(s) is less than satisfactory, a review shall be made of the initial decision to use the program to meet a specific training or development requirement. Periodic progress reviews may be held with the employee and a representative from the Human Resources Management Office to determine whether reasonable progress is being made toward the achievement of goals outlined in the Career Development Plan. Unsatisfactory performance in the course(s) or lack of progress toward the goals stated in a Career Development Plan may be cause for withholding further approval for participation in the Fee Waiver Program. In addition to these individual review, there must be periodic assessment of the benefit to the campus following the completion of work-related course(s) by employees. These evaluation processes are in accordance with CSU policies, specifically Executive Order 491.
