University Needs

"My goal has always been to be a great teacher." -Graduate student Alejandra Jaramillo Alejandra emigrated from Mexico when she was 12 - lost her brother to the streets of South Los Angeles two years later - became a seingle mother - worked full time to support her 3-year-old son - went to school full time - and graduated with liberal studies degree and a 3.9 GPA last May. What kept her motivated? The idea of teaching - providing a quality education for students like herself. The School of Education rewarded her dedication with a $10,000 scholarship, funding her teacher credential studies this year and helping fulfill her dream. In addition to the needs of the individual schools, there are a variety of University-wide projects in need of financial assistance.

Our Special Campaigns include:

• The Loker University Student Union Campaign
  Will improve the number and variety of student services available on campus and provide a unique avenue for celebrating the communal history of the campus and the community.
• The University Campaign
  Giving program for faculty, administrators and staff as a way to support excellence on campus.
• Presidential Scholarships
  Awarded annually for outstanding academic achievement to graduating high school students and community-college transfer students planning to attend CSU Dominguez Hills.
