Where are they now?

Our Alumni now span the country in their various pursuits. Here is a brief update of where some of our alum’s are today:
  • Charmaine Lang ~ “I just graduated from UMASS Amherst with a Masters in Education and an initial licensure in English Education-I have a contract with LAUSD and I will be teaching in a LA middle or high school for the upcoming school year.”

  • Myeshia Price ~ “I am currently enrolled in a Ph.D. at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in pursuit of a degree in developmental psychology. I am working with Dr. Janet Hyde. My research interests are around adolescent development with a particular interest in sexual development. I am presently working on research that is studying predictors of early onset of sexual behavior in adolescence. This research will be presented at the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality Annual Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana, November 8-11, 2007.”

  • Karla Alonso ~ “I am a 2nd year doctoral student in the Department of History at
    Arizona State University. I currently work as a graduate assistant for the department.
    My field is 20th Century U.S. History with a focus on Chicana/o and Women's History.
    My research centers around gender, feminism, and social activism during the Chicana/o Movement in Los Angeles, 1968-1975. My committee currently consists of Edward Escobar and Arturo Rosales.   • April Gonzalez ~ “Currently completing her MA degree at the University of Iowa in the Department of Educational Measurement and Statistics. As a research assistant with Iowa Testing Programs, April has become part of an established testing company that is known for its rich and influential history in the field of Psychometrics. Upon completing her MA, she will pursue an Ed.S. in School Curriculum and Assessment Policy. It is her hope to become an educational leader in matters concerning accountability and curriculum evaluation at the state level.”
