Personal Finance and Retirement

The following is an instructor-led course held at the Franklin Center in Redondo Beach.

Personal Finance and Retirement

This course is for retired or soon to be retired individuals who want to learn more about personal finance, retirement planning, and wealth preservation. Participating students will receive course materials. A variety of topics will be discussed, including how to: read stock tables, select appropriate equity and fixed income investments, determine minimum distributions, and recognize various annuity types. We will discuss inflation protection, tax shelters, “green investing”, and the impact current events have on individual wealth.

Participants will receive a notebook with course materials at the first meeting. Early registration is encouraged so that the correct number of notebooks can be assembled for the first class.

Phil Gironda has taught OLLI members for several years and was named a 2012 Five Star Wealth Manager for the second year in a row by Five Star Professional. The 2012 Five Star Wealth Managers are a select group, representing less than 2 percent of the wealth managers in the Orange County area.
