Field Trips

California African American Museum:
A Field Trip and Museum Tour

In conjunction with Black History Month, the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at CSUDH will take a field trip to the California African American Museum (CAAM). A grouop tour with a museum docent will cover current and permanent exhibits. The CAAM-curated exhibition utilizes a range of imagery to explore Los Angeles' parallel universe of places and people that served to validate and further the progression of African American art between 1940 - 1980.

Current exhibits include:

  • Go Tell It on the Mountain
  • The Legacy of the Golden State Mutual Life Insurance Company: More than a Business

We hope that you will join in this celebration of Black History Month.

Transportation: Participants will meet at the museum for a guided tour at 10:45 a.m. The museum is located at 600 State Drive, Exposition Park, Los Angeles, CA 90032. Phone the museum for directions at 213.744.7432.
