Getting Your Diploma

The process of conferring degrees usually takes about six to eight weeks and begins approximately two weeks after the end of the semester of the graduating term. Once a student is cleared for graduation, a diploma is prepared. When the diploma is ready, the student is sent notification that he/she has graduated and that their diploma is available for pick up. This notification letter includes steps to take in case a diploma is to be mailed or picked up by a proxy.

Information On Your Diploma

The student's name (as reflected on the Graduation Application), degree (BA, BS, MA, MBA, MS) and major with concentration appear on the diploma. If a student has a double major (e.g., BA in Psychology and a BS in Computer Science), only the primary major will appear on the diploma. Additionally, if a student meets the GPA requirements, University Honors (Cum Laude, Magna Cum Laude, Summa Cum Laude) and Honors in the Major are also placed on the diploma.
