Graduation Application Procedure

Bachelor's Degree Candidates

Each prospective graduate must file for graduation. A student is eligible to apply for graduation if fewer than 10 courses are needed to complete the degree and after completion of 100 semester units. The Application for Graduation, also available in the Office of Admissions & Records, should be taken to the Cashier's Office with payment during the announced filing periods. Please direct all questions regarding graduation procedures to the Customer Service Unit at (310) 243-3645.

Application Filing Periods for Bachelor's Degree Candidates

The Application for Graduation must be filed in accordance with the following schedule. Failure to apply in accordance with the schedule below will result in your Degree Check not being completed prior to the deadline to add classes for the term of intended graduation. Also there will be additional fees assessed for applying after the deadline.

If you anticipate graduating, you must file the Application for Graduation during the preceding:

Degree Conferral Term Filing Period Advisement Form* Due
Fall Semester February 15 – April 15 May 15
Spring Semester April 15 – September 15 October 15
Summer Session November 15 – February 15 March 15

Please note that if the above dates fall on a weekend or holiday, the deadline will be the previous working day. Failure to apply in accordance with this schedule will result in your Degree Check not being completed in a timely manner.

Master's Degree Candidates

Each prospective graduate must file for graduation. The Application for Graduation, also available in the Office of Admissions and Records, should be taken to the Cashier's Office with payment during the announced filing periods. Please direct all questions regarding graduation procedures to the Graduation Unit of the Office of Admissions & Records.

The Application for Graduation must be filed in accordance with the following schedule. Failure to apply in accordance with the schedule below will result in your Degree Check not being completed prior to the deadline to add classes for the term of intended graduation. Also there will be additional fees assessed for applying after the deadline.
