MBA and NCRP Online Program

Students participating in the "online" distance learning programs at CSU Dominguez Hills attend on a session basis. This means that the course-work will be divided into four separate sessions throughout our "traditional" academic year as follows:

Online Program Sessions

Spring Session: January through March
Summer Session: April through June
Fall #1 Session: July through September
Fall #2 Session: September through December

The traditional academic year at CSU Dominguez Hills consists of 3 semesters: Fall, Spring, and Summer as follows:

Traditional Academic Year Semesters

Fall August - December
Spring January - May
Summer June - August

Disbursements are issued at the beginning of each semester and not at the beginning of each session.

The Financial Aid Office determines your eligibility based on the information provided on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). To apply, visit FAFSA online. Please note, students must reapply for financial aid for each new academic year.

As a distance learning student through the online program, you will not be eligible for federal or state grants. Rather, you are considered for federal loans only. If you are eligible to borrow a William D. Ford Deferral Direct Loan, it will be paid in two equal installments or three if you will be enrolled during the summer session. These installments will occur at the beginning of the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms. The William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program offers two types of loans: subsidized and unsubsidized. The maximum loan eligibility is $8,500 per academic year.

For your William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan to cover your fees, you must complete the following two requirements. Failure to do so may prevent processing and/or payment of your loan.

  1. Loan Entrance Counseling: Students receiving a loan for the first time, or who took a leave for one year or more, are required to complete an Entrance Counseling Session. You may fulfill this requirement online at http://www.dlssonline.com. Once completed the quiz results will be transmitted electronically to the Financial Aid Office within 3 business days.
  2. Electronic Master Promissory Note (MPN): Once a student applies for financial aid the U.S. Department of Education sends the student a Personal Identification Number (PIN). The student is to use the PIN to complete their MPN online at http://dlenote.ed.gov. This site will guide you through the process step by step. Once completed your MPN will be transmitted electronically to the Financial Aid Office within 5 to 10 business days. If you do not have web access please contact the Financial Aid Office.

We encourage students to limit the amount they choose to borrow. Remember, a student loan must be REPAID!

To receive your loan disbursement, you must enroll at least half time as a masters student (4 units). Therefore, if your online program offers 3 unit courses only, you will need to be enrolled in a minimum of 6 units to be eligible for the loan disbursement. To receive Summer financial aid, you must complete and submit a Summer Request Form to the Financial Aid Office. This form is usually available mid-March and can be printed from this werbsite.
