Welcome to Disabled Student Services

The purpose of the Disabled Student Services (DSS) program is to make all of the University's educational, cultural, social and physical facilities and programs available to students with disabilities. The program serves as a centralized source of information for students with disabilities and those who work with them. By providing support services, DSS assists students with disabilities in the enhancement of their academic, career and personal development.

The decision to use services is a matter of individual choice. From our experience, students who demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, who begin preparing for college early, and who are aware of and can communicate their strengths and weaknesses will achieve higher levels of academic and personal success. There is support along the way in the form of one's own unique experiences, fellow students, the DSS office, faculty, staff and administrators of CSUDH. The students' responsibility is to become informed of and make use of the resources and services needed.
