The Strategies Towards Educational Progress & Success (STEPS) workshop is a university-wide academic probation intervention program designed for undergraduate students who are on academic probation. The mission of the STEPS academic probation intervention workshops is to encourage and support our students' persistence in and graduation from CSUDH by offering STEPS workshops throughout the fall and spring semesters. The workshops include helpful information about university policies and procedures, understanding academic probation, the reasons why students encounter academic problems, and how to receive help and support from campus services and offices.
In order to have the STEPS probation hold removed and to register
for courses, students must fulfill the STEPS requirement.
One-time attendance at this workshop is
required for all undergraduate students on academic probation.
Completion of a STEPS follow-up assignment and visiting a UAC
academic advisor is required for every subsequent semester on
probation.
Information regarding STEPS workshops is emailed to students on academic probation so it is extremely important that students’ email addresses on "MyCSUDH" be current and that they check email regularly.
If you are on probation and did not
attend one of the workshops offered in January or February, you will need to contact the UAC regarding the next scheduled workshops. Again, please note that you will not be able to register for classes until you fulfill the STEPS requirement.
