Division of Academic Affairs

Academic Affairs Facilities & Space Committee

The Division of Academic Affairs Facilities & Space Committee (AAFSC) was established in response to recommendations of the Faculty Policy Committee of the Academic Senate and the Academic Master Plan Coordinating Council. Both suggested that the Division create a committee to make recommendations and take actions related to instructional space in the University.

The AAFSC serves the following purposes:

  1. Ensure that the Division's inventory of academic space is aligned with the campus facilities database.
  2. Establish priorities for requesting funds for minor capital outlay projects.
  3. Act on requests for the allocation and renovation of instructional space assigned to the Division.
  4. Establish an Academic Affairs Facilities and Space Plan for the next 5 to 10 years that is aligned with the Campus Physical Master Plan, the Academic Master Plan, and the College Academic Plans.
  5. Process requests for additional space to the University Space Allocation Committee.
