Good morning, We continue to be in a stage three electrical alert which means rolling black outs may occur. We have not received any notice yet that the black outs will occur but be aware any savings of electrical power is highly appreciated. The big abusers of electrical power are small space heaters, coffee pots, microwaves, elevators and copy machines. In addition to cutting back the use of these items any lights that can be turned off will help.
Thank you all for your help.

A revised calendar for testing lights is attached, please
review and let me know if there is a problem. This is the test where we will
turn the power off to buildings in order to ascertain what is going to happen
if a black out occurs. Thanks for your help Randy Sharp

Friday, January 19 Physical Plant has planned a power shut down the night
of January 23rd and January 24. We are going to shut the power off to each
building to make sure that the emergency egress lights work. We will begin
the shutdown after eleven PM. This means that you need to turn off your computer
and any other electronic equipment. We are doing this in light of the power
problems the state is facing so we may plan our strategy for blackouts. Please call me or email me if this creates a problem. Randy Sharp

The rolling power outages that were predicted seem to be occurring in the northern part of the state. These outages are working south. This means that we need to prepare to leave the campus if your only means of egress is by the use of the elevators. The elevators will not work if the power is off and if you cannot leave by any other means you should leave the campus for the day.
Please notify your supervisor if you are to leave.
