Exposure to: chemicals, fumes, biohazard waste and dust contact

 

Wear proper gloves, eye protection and respiratory protection; work in ventilated areas to avoid fumes; conduct occasional air monitoring; bloodborne pathogen training; training for working in laboratories

 

Exposure to blood and needles (restrooms & health care center)

Handling and working with chemicals

 

Hazard Communication: MSDS, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Constant heavy lifting/climbing/bending/stooping

 

Use proper lifting techniques; Ergonomic training

Potential electrical shock

 

Avoid working around electrical equipment or outlets

Improper use of ladders

 

Use a well maintained wooden/fiberglass ladder; Follow all safety warnings posted on ladder

 

Trip or fall hazards

 

Walking/working surfaces training for working around uneven, wet and slippery surfaces (includes warning to others of slippery surfaces)

 

Fire and Emergency response

 

Training would include: fire extinguisher use, phone communication, first aid
