Abroad America (SAA)
The
College of Extended & International Education
offers a one
or two semester program which allows international students to study
at CSU Dominguez Hills in Los Angeles. If
you are an international student who wants to study in America for
a semester or two, Study Abroad America can provide
you the
opportunity to enjoy a great cultural and academic experience. This
program allows students to experience American culture, study
in challenging classes, enjoy the incredible Southern California climate
and make lifetime friends.
Students who have not yet achieved the University's English Language requirement, may still apply for admission to the Study Abroad America program.
The American Language and Culture Program will assist prospective international students in the processing of required documents for admission. These requirements include but are not limited to:

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
If you have recently scored above 500 on the paper-based TOEFL (CBT-173, iBT-61) or IELTS 6.5, you may take up to 12 units of undergraduate courses, or a combination of undergraduate classes and intensive English classes. Permission to take Open University classes is subject to a placement test and other conditions.APPLICATION STEPS
An F-1 visa is required to attend University Semester Abroad.It’s easy to apply. To receive an I-20, just submit the online application and send the following items:
- Completed application form
- Signed of your financial sponsor Statement, Original bank document or scholarship verification of support funds
- Application processing fee of $55 in the form of a check, credit card or international money order payable to CSUDH
- Photocopy of passport information page

Applications are due at least 6 weeks before each start date to allow enough time for processing, preparing the I-20 and mailing it in time for you to obtain a student visa from a U.S. embassy or consulate. Contact the American Language and Culture Program for dates and information on how to apply.
HEALTH INSURANCE
Health insurance is required for all students. Qualifying Health
Insurance is mandatory for all F-1 and J-1 visa students.REFUND POLICY
If a student withdraws from the session before entering the United States, a full tuition
refund, less a $355 administrative fee, will be issued upon approval of a written
petition to the Program Director.


After receipt of all required materials by the ALCP office, students can expect the processing of documents to take at least 14 days. Students who receive the admission to this program will receive an I-20 from ALCP which indicates their program admission. Upon achieving the required TOEFL/IELTS score or by approval of ALCP, students may begin their university classes in the following semester.
*** EXPRESS MAIL ($100): Due to the variance between the mail systems of each country, delivery of I-20's by ground mail can be problematic. I-20's not shipped by express mail may not be re-issued if lost, damaged or stolen. Re-issued I-20's may require a new application and new application fee as well as the requirement of express shipping.
