The Institutional TOEFL at the
American Language and Culture Program

The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is designed to evaluate the English skills of individuals whose native language is not English. It is primarily taken by those who are planning to study at American colleges and universities. Some institutions in other countries, where English is the language of instruction, also rely on the TOEFL. Some government agencies, scholarship programs, businesses and licensing / certification agencies may use TOEFL scores to evaluate English abilities.

The paper-based institutional TOEFL test is given on Thursdays. Please check the ALCP to confirm the test scheduling.

When you go to ALCP for testing you will be required to have identification with you. ALCP will tell you what type of identification you will need. The primary form of identification is a valid passport. Expired or photocopied passports are not acceptable.

Before the day of the test, you must come to CSUDH's ALCP office to reserve a seat for the test. Test seats are on a first come, first served basis. ALCP students are given first priority.
