Our Team

Sheila L. Butts, Director
Sheila was appointed to lead the Office of Alumni Relations in September 2003. She brings a wealth of skills and a breadth of experiences that speak positively to her accomplishments in the field of Higher Education. She began her career in the area of Student Affairs after receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Arts degree from Iowa State University, in Education with and emphasis in management. During her Student Affairs tenure, Ms. Butts honed her skills and expertise through a variety of positions including Activities Counselor, Activities Coordinator, Assistant Director- Student Program and Assistant Coordinator- Internships. She served as Director, Corporate Outreach Liaison/Career Counselor prior to assuming her current position as Director of Alumni Relations. These progressive positions provided her the opportunity to participate, interact with or take the lead in guiding students, faculty, staff and community members in accomplishing the mission of CSU Dominguez Hills.

Ms. Butts is a native of Los Angeles, California. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, music, theater, cooking and family time. She has a passion for meeting people, learning about different cultures and experiencing life to the fullest.

   

Annette Rayas, Assistant to the Director
Ms. Rayas joined the Office of Alumni Relations team in December 2003. She is currently enrolled at CSU Dominguez Hills majoring in Business Administration. Her professional experiences are varied and span such fields as customer service, inventory control, environmental health and safety, work coordination and human resources, to name a few. In addition to her full time employment and part time academic pursuits, Ms. Rayas is the proud mother of three beautiful daughters, ages, 11, 8 and 4.
