CARSON, Calif.-Senior cross country runner Cambria D'Amico (North Torrance HS) has been named Runner of the Week by the California Collegiate Athletic Association for the week of Aug. 27-Sept. 4.

The Torrance native clocked a time of 19:14.8 in the 5000 m race at the Cal State Fullerton Jammin' Invitation this past weekend in Brea. D'Amico helped to led the Toros to a tenth place finish, the best finish for a Division II school.

D'Amico was the first NCAA Division II runner to cross the finish line. Runners from Stanford, UCLA, Southern Cal and UC Santa Barbara paced the field.

The Runner of the Week honor is the first for D'Amico in her career.
