LA JOLLA, Calif.--The Cal State Dominguez Hills
men's soccer team, ranked No. 1 in the latest NSCAA polls, won
their 21st game in a row with a 1-0 victory over UC San Diego
tonight in California Collegiate Athletic Association action.
The Toros won the first game of a season-high
5-game roadtrip beginning tonight. But it wasn't easy though, as
the Tritons and Toros battled to a scoreless tie until the 78th
minute of play when Sean Lockhart (Palm Springs HS) took a pass
from Gabriel Valencia (Salesian HS) at the top of the box and
one-timed it to the near post catching the UCSD goalie off his
line for a 1-0 lead.
Luis Morales (Banning HS) earned his second
consecutive shutout in goal for the Toros while remaining perfect
in a CSUDH uniform. He is now 9-0 to begin this year and 20-0-0
dating back to last year.
Cal State Dominguez Hills, the defending NCAA
II National Champions, will be back in CCAA action this Monday at
Grand Canyon University. First kick is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
