LOOKING AHEAD: The NCAA II defending national champs, coming off a 5-0 win this past weekend at Cal State Stanislaus, will travel to Cal State Bakersfield on Wednesday night for their final regular season road game. The Toros will return home on Saturday for their regular season finale hosting Cal State LA.

TOROS VS. 'RUNNERS/GOLDEN EAGLES SERIES NOTES: The Toros lead the all-time series 27-11-4. CSUDH has won the last eight contests dating back to 1997. The Toros already defeated CSUB 3-0 in Carson earlier this season. Against Cal State LA, the Toros own a 15-13-1 series advantage and have won the previous 10 contests dating back to the '96 campaign. The team posted a 6-3 victory in Los Angeles earlier this year.

A LOOK BACK... TOROS MAN-HANDLE WARRIORS 5-0: Cal State Dominguez Hills received four second half goals to cruise to a 5-0 shutout victory over Cal State Stanislaus in California Collegiate Athletic Association action on Saturday in Turlock, CA. The No. 3 ranked Toros and defending national champs, took a 1-0 lead when Eddie Gonzales-Pinto (N. Torrance HS) scored what turned out to be the game-winning shot at 5:22. Sean Lockhart (Palm Springs HS) layed off a pass inside the box to Gonzales-Pinto who slotted his shot to the near post from 12-yards away. It stayed 1-0 until the second half at the 49:23 minute mark when Joe Cartlidge (Redondo Union HS) headed in his shot making it 2-0. Lockhart sent in a corner kick that Michael Jimenez (Bishop Montgomery HS) flicked on to Cartlidge who headed in the score to the far post. At 54:22 Lockhart made it 3-0 Toros on a beautiful goal off a free kick. From 18-yards out on the right side of the box, Lockhart bent his shot over the wall to the upper far post freezing Stanislaus keeper Matthew Buckman. Four minutes later at 58:59, Jimenez gave CSUDH more breathing room when freshman Kevin Sosa (Torrance HS) played the ball down the left side. Jimenez ran onto it and slotted his shot from inside of eight yards past Buckman for a 4-0 lead. Senior forward Gabriel Valencia (Salesian HS) finished the scoring for the Toros at 86:31. Valencia took the ball from defender Kyle Thornton (W. Torrance HS) at midfield and gallopped 50 yards and beat the goalie one-on-one for the score. CSUDH keeper Luis Morales (Banning HS) earned the shutout, his seventh of the year, with two saves in goal.

ROADRUNNERS SCOUTING REPORT: Cal State Bakersfield enters the week in second place in the CCAA Central Division with a 7-5-0 league mark. The 'Runners are 10-8-0 overall. CSUB has been playing well as of late. The team has won five of their last six games. Bakersfield defeated Cal State LA this past weekend 2-1 in Los Angeles. VALENCIA GOING FOR A 10: Gabriel Valencia's next goal will give him ten on the season. The junior forward has been a solid addition to the Toros offense this year. After losing a duo of players in Bengard and NCAA II Player of the Year Juan Carlos Bolanos that scored 92 points between them, Valencia and Lockhart have teamed up to tally 53 points with two games left in the regular season.
