TURLOCK -- The Warriors used another strong
second half start as they rolled past Cal State Dominguez Hills,
59-40, Friday night in the Warrior Arena.
With a one-point halftime lead, the Warriors
surged out of the locker room, scoring 13 unanswered points in the
first six minutes to build a 33-19 lead en route to the victory.
Shannon Donnelly picked up her third
double-double of the year with 16 points and 13 rebounds to lead
the Warriors, now 6-9 overall and 3-7 in the CCAA. She was 4-for-8
from the field and 7-for-11 from the foul line.
The Warriors took advantage of a poor shooting
first-half by the Toros for the narrow one-point lead at halftime.
CSU Dominguez Hills shot 30 percent with team's top scorer Tracee
Lewis leading with seven.
CSU Stanislaus, however, held Lewis to just
eight points for the evening. Lewis averaged 13 points per contest
entering the weekend.
Ruby Webb added 10 points and five rebounds
while Sarah Hearn had 12 rebounds to pace the Warriors.
Kendra Tease led the Toros (5-8, 3-6 CCAA) with
11 points and Christina Tucker had 10 rebounds.
The Toros next face the Roadrunners of Cal
State Bakersfield in Bakersfield Saturday night (Jan. 19). The
Warriors will attempt their first CCAA weekend sweep Saturday
night when they host Cal State L.A. |
