Danyiel Wortham scored 12 points and Nicholle
Bromley added 11 as UC San Diego topped Cal State Dominguez Hills,
52-48, in CCAA women's basketball action at RIMAC Arena Friday.
The Toros led the low-scoring affair, 23-20, at
halftime, as CSUDH hit just 30.8 percent from the field and the
Tritons struggled even more, shooting just 20 percent from the
floor. The second half shooting was slightly better, and UCSD
outscored the Toros, 32-25, for the victory.
Tracee Lewis led CSUDH with 15 points on the
night, while Kendra Tease pulled down a game-high 15 rebounds.
Margaret Johnson added nine points and 11
rebounds to the Triton cause, while Ali Ginn matched nine points
with nine rebounds.
Dominguez Hills fell to 6-15 overall and 4-13
in the CCAA, while UCSD improved to 12-10 overall and 8-9 in the
California Collegiate Athletic Association.
The Toros continue their southern road trip
Saturday as they visit Grand Canyon. |
