Women Close at Halftime, But Cossacks Take 64-45 Basketball Win

(Rohnert Park) -- Lacey Campbell had her first career double-double and Jessica Jones just missed on another as the Sonoma State Cossacks defeated Cal State Dominguez Hills 64-45 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association women's basketball game played Saturday night.

Campbell tallied 13 points and led all players with 13 rebounds as the Cossacks turned a slim five point halftime lead into a second half blow out. Jones was instrumental in breaking open the game and she and Campbell each drained a pair of three pointers over the final eight minutes of action that saw the Cossacks outscore the Toros 19-5 to close out the contest.

Jones finished the night with 17 points and nine rebounds. Tara Whiteside added 11 points for the Cossacks. The Toros were led by Kendra Tease and Tracee Lewis who each finished with 12 points.

CSUDH (4-16, 6-18) closes out the season next weekend with home contests against Cal State Bakersfield and Cal State Stanislaus.
