Blunt Named to NABC Division II Men's Basketball All-Region Team
Senior center Kevin Blunt selected to NABC Second Team All-Region squad
March 11, 2002

CARSON, Calif.-Senior Kevin Blunt was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Second Team All-Region squad after leading the Toros to a 6th place finish in the California Collegiate Athletic Association conference standings with an 11-11 record. Cal State Dominguez Hills finished with one of the top second-half team records in the CCAA (8-3).

The NABC announced today the NABC/Pontiac Division II All-District Teams and coaches. Selected and voted on by member coaches of the NABC, the student-athletes and coaches represent the finest basketball talent in Division II. The 80 student-athletes, from 8 districts, are now eligible for the NABC/Pontiac Division II All-American Team to be announced at the conclusion of the 2001-02 NCAA men's basketball season.

Blunt, a 6-7 center from San Bernardino, CA, led CSUDH to a 12-15 overall mark and a 11-11 CCAA record. Blunt averaged 17.6 ppg and 8.5 rpg on the season. His scoring average placed him fifth among other scorer's in the conference while his rebounding mark placed him third. Blunt was one of the most skilled and dominant big men in the league registering nine double-doubles on the year. His .525 field-goal percentage led the entire conference. Blunt earned Rawling's/CCAA Player of the Week honors for the week of Feb. 11-17.
