CARSON, Calif.--Cal State Dominguez Hills Head
Coach Larry Hauser announced the hiring of longtime coach Marc
Joffe today. He takes over for former assistant coach Brad Enright
who accepted a position at the U.S. Naval Academy last month.
"Marc brings experience from four
NCAA Division I programs plus experience in our own conference,"states
Hauser. "We are fortunate to have someone who is already
acquainted with the means of recruiting, scouting and coaching. He
will be a great asset to our program."
Joffe comes to the Carson campus from Tennessee
State University where he served as an assistant coach during the
1998-99 season. At TSU, he was responsible for recruiting,
compliance and academics. Prior to Tennessee, Joffe spent a year
at Morehead State University during the 1996-97 season where he
was also responsible for recruiting, compliance and academics.
Joffe served as the assistant coach and
recruiting coordinator for four seasons (1992-96) at Sacramento
State University. It was during that period that Joffe recruited
the Los Angeles City 3-A Player of the Year as well as two players
ranked in the top ten nationally at the junior college level.
"I am thrilled to have the
opportunity to be representing the Toros," says Joffe. "To
some extent I am going back to my roots in Division II and I am
quite happy about that. I am also very fortunate to have the
opportunity to work with one of the great basketball minds in the
country in Larry Hauser."
Prior to Sacramento State, Joffe spent two
years as an assistant coach at Moorpark Community College from
1990-92. From 1986-87 Joffe was an assistant under Bill Berry at
San Jose State. Joffe got his start in coaching with the legendary
coach Bob Hamilton at UC Davis during the 1985-86 season when he
helped the Aggies to a 17-11 overall record.
Here at CSUDH, coach Joffe will be responsible
for on floor coaching, scouting, recruiting, handling the budget,
travel and summer camps. |
