CARSON, Calif.- The California Collegiate
Athletic Association conference office released the 2002 men's and
women's soccer All-CCAA awards this past weekend and a total of 12
Cal State Dominguez Hills student-athlete's were honored on the
list.
On the men's side, CSUDH led all teams with
eight players honored including a school record five to the
All-CCAA First Team.
The five first team selections included: senior
defender Sean Silveri (Saugus/Valencia HS), senior forward
Scott White (La Habra/Sonora HS), junior midfielder Victor
Guerrero (Santa Ana/Century HS), junior forward Eduardo
Serrano (Toluca, Mexico) and sophomore midfielder Rick
Cobb (Downey/Warren HS).
Named to the All-CCAA Second Team were: senior
forward Gabriel Valencia (Los Angeles/Salesian HS) and
sophomore defender Nathan Reeves (Lakewood/Lakewood HS).
Junior goalkeeper Javier Barragan (Long Beach/LB Jordan
HS) earned All-CCAA Honorable Mention honors.
Four Cal State Dominguez Hills women's players
garnered honors, including senior forward Dianne Garza
(Temple City/Temple City HS) who was named to the All-CCAA First
Team.
Senior midfielder Kim Acino (Torrance/N.
Torrance HS) and junior forward Tanya Wilson (Palm
Springs/Palm Springs HS) were selected to the All-CCAA Second
Team. Junior defender Chantel Eastwood (Huntington
Beach/Mayfair HS) earned Honorable Mention honors.
