CARSON, Calif. (Feb. 25, 2003) - Area
youngsters will have an opportunity to experience the college
game-day atmosphere when Cal State Dominguez Hills hosts NCAA®
Basketball's annual Take a Kid to the Game® (TAKG) program,
March 1, 2003. Kids, ages 14 and younger, will receive a free
ticket with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket, to watch
the Toros take on Cal State Bakersfield in women's and men's
action at the Torodome.
Cal State Dominguez Hills is one of more than
300 institutions across the nation that are participating in this
campaign focused on attracting more of the nation's youth to
college games. The Take a Kid to the Game® program is entering
it eight year in the promotion of NCAA® Athletics.
"We are very excited to be
participating in the NCAA Take a Kid to the Game initiative,"
said Ron Prettyman, athletic director at CSUDH. "Our wish is
that all of the young kids in our immediate area will have the
opportunity to experience the one-of-a-kind atmosphere that is
Men's & Women's NCAA Basketball."
The women's game will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. and
the men's game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this
special event can be purchased at the Cal State Dominguez Hills
ticket counter on the night of the game.
