CARSON, Calif.-Cal State Stanislaus had five
players score in double-figures to lead the Warriors to a 78-57
California Collegiate Athletic Association victory over Cal State
Dominguez Hills Friday night in the Torodome.
CSUDH (6-18, 4-15 CCAA) jumped out to an early
lead, 10-4, but Cal State Stanislaus went on a 13-0 run over the
next five minutes to take a 17-0 lead midway through the first
half.
CSUS (16-10, 11-8 CCAA) held the Toros to only
four baskets over the final 11 minutes of the first half while
going on a 23-12 run to close out the half and take a 40-22 lead
at the break.
Cal State Stanislaus came out hot in the second
half opening up a 23-point lead, 51-28, in the first five minutes.
The Warriors would lead by as much as 27 points two times before
settling for the 78-57 win.
Bernard McIntosh, Ira Taylor and Jamal O'Quinn
each had 14 points to lead Stanislaus. Jeff Davenport and Mesut
Ademoglu added 12 points apiece. McIntosh led CSUS on the boards
with seven rebounds.
For Cal State Dominguez Hills, Michael Crawford
scored a game-high 21 points in the losing effort and pulled down
a team-best seven boards. No other Toro was in double-digits
offensively.
The Toros will host Cal State Bakersfield
tomorrow night in the Torodome. First tip is scheduled for 7:30
p.m.
