CARSON, Calif.- Cal State Dominguez Hills took advantage of an Warrior error in the bottom of the seventh inning to score two runs and pick up the 5-4 come from behind victory in game one of the CCAA doubleheader versus Cal State Stanislaus today at Toro Diamond.

CSUDH had a three-run lead going into the fourth inning, but a two run Warrior home run would tighten up the game. CSUS would tie it up in the following inning, when with a runner third, a nicely placed bunt by Josette Belarmino would score the runner. After a three and out fifth inning by the Toros, CSUS would score again when a single to right field was cut off early allowing the Warrior run to score.

In the bottom of the seventh, the much needed Toro bats came alive as freshman Natalie Greco put down a lead off single, followed by a single that split the center by senior catcher Daisy Flores. After an advance of the two base runners by a sacrifice bunt by Gates, a throwing error by CSUS would led to two CSUDH runs.

Janet Briscoe came in at the top of the fifth inning and pitched her way to her first win of the season.

In game two, errors would plague CSUS once again, when another throwing error on a pickoff attempt would score Cindy Gates. In the bottom of the fifth, a leadoff single by Greco, followed by a double to deep center by Flores, would put CSUDH on top with no outs.

In the bottom of the sixth with one out and runners on second and third, Renee Snyder stayed patient at the plate, leading to a double to left center. It was her second double of the day.

An attempt to rally by the Warriors was halted in the seventh, when a double-play by the CSUDH infield would secure the 4-0 win and the doubleheader sweep of CSUS.

Freshman hurler Kim O'Hanian picked up her sixth win of the season going the distance in the shutout.

CSUDH improves to 11-4-1 overall and 8-3 in CCAA action.
