CARSON, Calif.- Cal State Bakersfield got a
game-high 18 points from Diane Dittburner en route to a 85-48 rout
of Cal State Dominguez Hills tonight in the Torodome. The win is
the 'Runners 21 st straight as they improve to an impressive 24-1
overall and 19-1 in CCAA action. The Toros, who were on a
three-game win streak, fell to 9-15 overall and 8-12 in CCAA play.
CSUDH suffered from poor shooting in the first
half, leading to the CSUB 43-18 half time lead. Tameka Blue, who
had a career-best 33 points in last night's win over Cal State
Stanislaus, was silenced in the first half with only two points.
CSUB was solid from the field at 53% and also outrebounded the
Toros 28-15.
In the second half, the Toros picked up their
play while improving their consistency from 17% to 36%. Blue was a
little better from the field, as she scored nine points in the
second half. She was the Toros top scorer with 11.
CSUB was led by Dittburner with 18, while three
other 'Runners put up double-figure scoring on the night. Heather
Garay got a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards.
The 35- point margin of victory was CSUB's
second largest ever and most since January 2001.
The Toros will close out the 2002-2003 season
next week as they host UC Davis and Chico State. |
