Series Record: UC Davis owns a 11-2
series advantage...the Toros have won the last two games
dating back to last year, including its first-ever win in
Davis earlier this season, 98-92, in double-overtime.
Aggie Notes: UC Davis broke a
season-long six-game losing streak with a win Saturday against
Grand Canyon, 67-64, at home...on Friday, the Aggies suffered
a one-point setback to UC San Diego, 84-85...four UCD players
are averaging in double-figures offensively led by senior
Dominic Callori (18.7)...Ryan Moore (16.6), Fowzi Abdelsamad
(15.3) and Justin Strearns (13.5) are the others...Callori
leads the team and the conference in rebounding averaging 10.9
rpg...as a team, Davis is making .440 of their shots from the
field and are strong at the foul-line making .713 of its
attempts...UCD is being outrebounded on average by the
opposition, 37-32. |

QUICK RECAP:
The Toros are now 6-19 overall and in 12th-place with a 4-16 CCAA
record. CSUDH lost its season-high, fifth and sixth game in a row
this past weekend at home against Cal State Stanislaus (57-78) and
Cal State Bakersfield (59-92).
WARRIORS HAND TOROS 78-57 CCAA LOSS:
Cal State Stanislaus had five players score in double-figures
to lead the Warriors to a 78-57 California Collegiate Athletic
Association victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills Friday night in
the Torodome. CSUDH jumped out to an early lead, 10-4, but Cal
State Stanislaus went on a 13-0 run over the next five minutes to
take a 17-10 lead midway through the first half. CSUS (16-10, 11-8
CCAA) held the Toros to only four baskets over the final 11
minutes of the first half while going on a 23-12 run to close out
the period and take a 40-22 lead at the break. Cal State
Stanislaus came out hot in the second half opening up a 23-point
lead, 51-28, in the first five minutes. The Warriors would lead by
as much as 27 points two times before settling for the 78-57 win.
For Cal State Dominguez Hills, Michael Crawford (Simi Valley HS)
scored a game-high 21 points in the losing effort and pulled down
a team-best seven boards. No other Toro was in double-digits
offensively.
TOROS SUFFER WORST CCAA LOSS OF YEAR TO
BAKERSFIELD, 92-59:
Cal State Bakersfield broke a mini two-game slide with a
resounding 92-59 win over host Cal State Dominguez Hills in
California Collegiate Athletic Association action Saturday night
in the Torodome. The Bakersfield victory is the 18th-straight over
the Toros dating back to the 1993-94 season. The 33-point loss was
the largest margin of defeat in a CCAA game this year for the
Toros. Terri Miller led five players in double-digits for CSUB
(18-7, 13-7 CCAA). Miller registered a double-double with 20
points and 13 rebounds. Cal State Dominguez Hills' Justin Goree
(Fairfield, CA) and Andre' Brown (San Jose, CA) came off the bench
to lead the team offensively with 12 and 11 points. Michael
Crawford also contributed 11 points on the night while leading the
team with five rebounds. Cal State Bakersfield took the lead for
good at 15:31 on a jumper in the paint by Miller, 10-9. It was a
five-point game over the next nine minutes before the 'Runners
went on a 25-8 run to close out the half and take a 22-point lead
into the locker room. Bakersfield came out blazing to open up the
second opening up a 30 point lead, 65-35, in the first five
minutes. The Toros would not get any closer than 26 points in the
second half. CSUB would build its margin up to as much as 39
points before settling for the 92-59 victory.

CRAWFOR MATCHES SEASON-BEST:
Senior Michael Crawford matched his season-best offensive output
with 21 points against Cal State Stanislaus last Friday. Crawford,
a 6-5 forward from Simi Valley HS, went 8-for-12 from the field
and pulled down seven rebounds in 29 minutes of play. He also had
a team-high four steals in the losing effort. Crawford has now
scored in double-digits five straight games and 12 on the season.
He scored 21 points earlier in the year against CS San Bernardino.
His career-high is a 27 point effort against Cal State LA last
year.
TEAM DISHES OUT SEASON-BEST:
In the Toros 59-92 loss on Saturday night against Cal State
Bakersfield, CSUDH dished out a season-high 17 assists in its 21
made baskets. Its previous best was a 16 assist game against UC
Davis on Jan. 31.
GAY HAPPY TO ASSIST:
Freshman point guard Jamel Gay (Artesia HS) registered a
career-high seven assists on Saturday night against Bakersfield.
Even more impressive was that he was perfect with no turnovers on
the night. Gay also scored six points in 23 minutes of play.
LANKSTER GRABS CAREER-HIGH:
Freshman forward Saul Lankster (Compton Centennial HS) grabbed a
career-high five rebounds Saturday night against Cal State
Bakersfield. Lankster had a solid line adding nine points and four
assists to go along with his five boards. His previous best was
four rebounds against UC San Diego on Jan. 10 when he poured in a
career-high 18 points.
OFFENSIVE BOARDS:
For only the fourth time all year CSUDH grabbed single digits on
the offensive side of the boards. In 25 games, CSUDH has pulled
down 10 or more rebounds in 21 games. Saturday night the Toros
recorded nine offensive boards tying a season-low. It also snapped
a five-game streak of 10+ offensive rebounds.
TRIO IN DOUBLE-FIGURES OFFENSIVELY:
Justin Goree leads a trio of players in double-figures
offensively. Goree is scoring at a 11.5 ppg clip while Andre'
Brown (10.4) and Michael Crawford (10.3) have also registered
double-digits.
