Toros Improve Each Round, Finish 15th at SoCal Intercollegiate Golf Tourney

DEL MAR, Calif.--The University of Colorado, Colorado Springs won the team championship at the 53rd Southern California Intercollegiate Golf Championship on Tuesday at The Santaluz Club in Del Mar. Cal State Dominguez Hills finished 15th with a final team score of 952 (328-314-310).

The Toros were led by Jan Wong who finished 24th individually with a 14-over 227 after three rounds. Wong's best performance came today carding a three-over 74. Wong's scores were: 77-76-74. Teammate Chris Whitaker finished 32nd after shooting 21-over for a 234 final score. Whitaker's rounds were: 80-78-76.

Dave Linsangan (244, +31) and Darin Kurasaki (249, +36) rounded out the scoring for the Toros finishing 44th and 47th respectively. Francisco Reynoso (250, +37) also competed but was not involved in the teams scoring while finishing 48th.

The CSUDH golf team will take a week off before competing at the Cal State San Bernardino Tournament at the PGA Beaumont Course on Sunday through Tuesday, March 23-25.
