San Francisco, Calif. – Cal State Dominguez Hills (20-7-1, 15-5 CCAA) swept San Francisco State (16-19, 9-11 CCAA) 3-0 and 4-0 in a conference softball doubleheader Friday afternoon. The losses snapped the Gators six-game winning streak.

Game one was scoreless until the third inning. The Toros took advantage of three Gator errors to score two runs. In the fifth inning with Cindy Gates at third, Natalie Sharp singled to right field to score Gates. That made it 3-0, a lead the Toros hung on to.

Rachel Darrow had two hits to lead the attack.

Sonja Garnett gave up six hits, three runs, one earned and struck out three batters.

The story in game two was the Toros taking advantage of SF State miscues. In the third inning with one out, Johana Orozco reached base on a Gator error. Orozco stoled second. After a fly out, a pick off throw to second sailed into the outfield allowing Orozco to reach third. Following a walk, a fielder’s choice by Sharp allowed Orozco to score.

SFSU remained in the hunt until the seventh inning. The Toros scored three runs off of two hits and two errors to seal the game.

Kim O’Hanian picked up the win for the Toros with six strike outs and gave up one hit, a single to Chrissy Hildebrandt in the fourth inning.

Holly Pearce gave up four hits, four runs, none of them earned and struck out two batters in 6 and 1/3rd innings. In the seventh inning, Erica Tianco recorded her 400th career assist. She joined Maria Gonzales (1990-92) and Gwen Kagaoan (1994-97) as the third Gator to record 400 career assists.
