Buncio Leads CSUDH Women's Cross Country Team at Cal State Fullerton Meet
Carson native runs to 12th-place finish at season-opener

Carson, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills junior Jenny Buncio (Carson, CA/West Torrance) posted a 12th-place finish at the Cal State Fullerton "Season Opener," leading the Toros cross country team to an overall 9th-place finish on the afternoon.

The Carson native finished the 5K race in a time of 18:58.40, finishing ahead of many Division I runners including those from USC, San Diego State, UC Riverside, Pepperdine and host Cal State Fullerton.

Fellow junior Alejandra Contreras (El Monte, CA/Mt. SAC) posted the second-best time for the Toros as she completed the race in a time of 19:23.50. Other CSUDH results follow.

Other CSUDH Finishers: Jacqueline Ramirez, 37th (19:49.50); Isabel Espinoza, 38th (19:50.90); Peace Udechukwu, 133rd (25:37.60); Keisha Wilson, 135th (26:31.30); Omega Goudea, 139th (31:03.60).

The Toros head to Irvine on Saturday, September 6, for the UC Irvine Invite, before traveling to Riverside to compete in the UC Riverside Invite on Saturday, September, 20.
