Men's Soccer Moves Up to No. 3 in NSCAA/Adidas National Poll
September 2, 2003

CARSON, Calif.--After going 2-0-0 to begin the season the Cal State Dominguez Hills men's soccer team, ranked No. 9 in the preseason polls, has moved up six spots to take over the No. 3 spot it was announced today by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

CSUDH defeated regional rival Seattle Pacific University, 2-0, in the opening game of the FarWest Classic held here over the weekend at the Home Depot Center. The Toros then knocked off No. 8 Barry University, 3-1, in what was a rematch of the 2000 National Championship game.

"It's nice to start the season 2-0," states Head Coach Joe Flanagan, "especially against two quality programs like Seattle Pacific and Barry. But now we are just looking to continue to get better on the field and take it one game at a time."

Cal State Dominguez Hills is back in action tomorrow at the Home Depot Center in a regional match against Western Washington University. First kick is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
