Women's Soccer Upsets No. 4 UC San Diego, 3-2
Up 3-0, No. 21 CSUDH holds on for CCAA victory

LA JOLLA, Calif.--Cal State Dominguez Hills' eighth straight win was a big one as they held on to defeat No. 4-ranked UC San Diego Sunday in California Collegiate Athletic Association action, 3-2.

CSUDH, ranked No. 21 in this week's national poll, has now won eight games in a row and improves to 10-1-0 overall and remain perfect in CCAA play with a 7-0-0 record. UC San Diego suffers their first loss of the season and are now 8-1-0 overall and 6-1-0 in CCAA play.

The Toros took a 3-0 lead midway through the second period before the Tritons were able to get on the board. But CSUDH's defense was able to hold on the rest of the way to earn the victory.

Chantel Eastwood began the scoring at 13:13 heading in a corner kick off the foot of Michelle Sena making it 1-0.

Tanya Wilson then made it 2-0 at 32:26. Wilson collected a rebound off the crossbar from a 20-yard blast from Erin Fieger and knocked her shot to the back of the net to give the Toros a two-goal advantage heading into the half.

Elizabeth Arreola then scored what would turn out to be the winning goal at 52:51 off an assist from Kristen Walsh.

UC San Diego scored two goals in the final 38 minutes, one off a penalty kick, but CSUDH would hold on for the upset win despite being outshot 21-11 in the match.

Alba Garcia made eight saves in goal to earn the win.

Cal State Dominguez Hills is back in action on October 5 hosting Humboldt State. First kick is scheduled for 12:30 p.m.
