CARSON, Calif.--Cal State Dominguez Hills' Sanoe Samatua (Torrance/N. Torrance HS) squeezed a shot by UC Davis goalie Krystyn Lizak from six yards away just over a minute into overtime to give the Toros a 3-2 victory over the Aggies in California Collegiate Athletic Association action on Sunday afternoon at Toro Field.

Samatua's "Golden Goal" improves the Toros to 12-3-1 and 9-1-1 in CCAA play, while UC Davis drops to 6-7-1 and 6-5-0.

Cal State Dominguez Hills got on the scoreboard first when Erin Fieger (Manhattan Beach/Mira Costa HS) tallied her first goal of the year at 8:08. Fieger headed a corner kick off the foot of Lisa Marino (Hesperia/Hesperia HS) past the Aggie keeper for the 1-0 lead.

It stayed that way until Arlene Tuttle scored the equalizer for the visitors. Kristin Patterson crossed a pass from the right flank to Tuttle, who headed her shot to the near post.

CSUDH went up 2-1 when Tanya Wilson (Palm Springs/Palm Springs HS) scored her eighth goal of the season. Elizabeth Arreola (Redondo Beach/Redondo Union HS) set up the play with a nice ball to Laci Gruner (Long Beach/Mayfair HS) down the right side. Aggie goalie Lizak came off her line when Gruner crossed her pass inside the box to Wilson, who tapped her shot home into a wide-open goal.

But with :17 seconds remaining in regulation, Melissa Albrecht took a deflection off a Toro defender and blasted her shot to the upper far netting from 25 yards out to send the game into overtime, setting up Samatua's heroics.

Alba Garcia (Chino/Don Lugo HS) made six saves in goal to earn the win today. Lizak suffered the loss while saving three shots.

The Toros are back in CCAA action on Saturday hosting Cal State Stanislaus. First kick is set for 3 PM.
