CARSON, Calif.--With Cal Poly Pomona winning
its rescheduled game against UC San Diego last night, the field
for the 2003 California Collegiate Athletic Association women's
soccer championship has been set.
Cal State Dominguez Hills, ranked No. 17 in the
nation, is the CCAA Central Division champion and will be the No.
1 seed. UC San Diego, ranked No. 3, will be the No. 2 seed as the
CCAA South Division champion.
Sonoma State, the North Division champion,
enters the tournament as the No. 3 seed, while Cal Poly Pomona, by
virtue of its 2-1 win yesterday over UC San Diego, makes the draw
as the wild card and No. 4 seed.
The first women's semifinal on Friday, November
7 will pit UC San Diego versus Sonoma State at 11:00 a.m. CSUDH
will battle Cal Poly Pomona in the late game, beginning at 1:30
p.m.
