Cal State Dominguez Hills Places Three Toros on Division II First-Team All-West Regional Women's Soccer Squad
Tanya Wilson, Sarah Gibson and Chantel Eastwood add to honor-filled 2003 season

CARSON, Calif. - Cal State Dominguez Hills women's soccer forward Tanya Wilson (Palm Springs, CA/Palm Springs HS), along with defenders Sarah Gibson (La Habra, CA/Sonora HS) and Chantel Eastwood (Lakewood, CA/Mayfair HS) each has been named a Division II First-Team All-West Regional selection, it was announced by the All-West Regional committee.

Wilson, a senior from Palm Springs, CA, led the Toros with 25 points this season, tying for team-high honors with 11 goals while adding three assists. The 5'7" forward started all 23 games for CSUDH, tallying three game-winning goals in taking the Toros two-games deep into the NCAA Tournament. Wilson also garnered First-Team All-CCAA honors, ending the regular season among the conference leaders in game-winning goals (T-1st), goals (T-2nd), goals per game (T-4th), points (T-8th) and points per game (9th).

Gibson, a 5'10" junior from La Habra, CA, also earned a First-Team All-CCAA nod while starting all 23 games for the Toros. On the year, Gibson tallied seven points, scoring two goals and earning three assists, ending the regular season tied for the conference's 18th position in assists.

Eastwood, a 5'8" senior from Lakewood, CA, finished the 2003 season second on the team with 23 points, scoring a team-tying 11 goals while distributing one assist. The Mayfair HS alum started all 23 matches for the Toros, netting four game-winning goals on the season, a team-high total. Eastwood was deemed an Honorable Mention All-CCAA selection last month, concluding the regular season also amongst the CCAA's elite in game-winning goals (T-1st), goals (T-2nd), goals per game (T-4th), points (T-10th) and points per game (11th).

The Toros ended the year 17-4-2, 13-2-1 CCAA, falling to CCAA-rival UC San Diego on penalty kicks (4-3) in the NCAA II Far West Regional Championship game. This season's 17-win total improves upon last year's record by six wins, and the three All-CCAA honorees were amongst 15 total Toros from both the men's and women's squads selected for an All-CCAA honor this season.
