Complete Box Score

DAVIS, Calif. -- Jennifer Decuir and Ellen Porshneva each scored 19 points and the Aggies closed the game on an 11-2 run as UC Davis defeated Cal State Dominguez Hills 75-59 in a California Collegiate Athletic Association women's game in front of 1,118 Saturday night at Recreation Hall.

With the win the Aggies avenge a loss to the Toros last week and improve to 13-7 on the season, 8-6 in CCAA play. CSUDH falls to 10-9 overall, 6-8 in conference action.

After Dominguez scored the opening basket of the game, the Aggies led the remainder of the half. UC Davis held its biggest lead at the five minute mark following a Jessica Campbell layup. Late in the half the Toros went on an 8-0 run to tie the score at 31-31, but a Porshneva jumper with under a minute to play gave the Aggies a 33-31 lead entering halftime.

UC Davis took advantage of eight offensive rebounds that it converted into 10 second-chance points, compared to none for the Toros on five offensive boards. The Toros did hold a big advantage on points off turnovers, converting seven Aggies miscues into 12 points while the Aggies managed just two points off nine Toro turnovers.

In the second half the Toros drew even at 40-40 four and a half minutes in. Two Porshneva free throws on the Aggies next possession gave UC Davis the lead for good. Midway through the half the Aggies took control, extending the lead to 11 following a Decuir jumper at the 6:40 mark.

Dominguez never came within seven the rest of the way as the Toros converted just one of its final seven attempts.

Decuir finished the night leading the Aggies with 19 points, a career-high nine rebounds and six assists. Porshneva added seven rebounds and three assists to her 19 points while Campbell had 17 points and six boards.

Dominguez was led by Zipporah Chase with a game-high 23 points and two blocks. Lindsay Peloza was the only other Toro in double figures with 11. Natasha Gray had a team-high seven rebounds.

Cal State Dominguez Hills will be in action again next weekend as they host Cal Poly Pomona Friday night and Cal State San Bernardino Saturday night.
