Cal State Dominguez Hills Men's Golf in Eighth after Day One of CS San Marcos Invitational
March 1, 2004

The men's golf team from Cal State Dominguez Hills is in eighth-place with 613 strokes after the first two rounds of Cal State San Marcos Invitational on Monday at the San Luis Rey Downs Golf Course in Bonsall. The course is 72 par, 6,750 yards. There are 17 teams competing.

Bryan Newman leads the Toro linksters shooting a 146 (75-71) after 36 holes. Newman's total puts him in a tie for seventh placing heading into the second round on Tuesday.

CSUDH is 25 strokes behind leader and host, CSU San Marcos. The Toros are 19 strokes behind CCAA school UC San Diego (594) and 10 strokes ahead of CCAA foe CS San Bernardino (623).

The final round will be played Tuesday morning.
