Bryan Newman Paces CSUDH Linksters at 54th Southern California Intercollegiate Golf Championship
Temecula native finishes 9th to lead the Toros to overall 10-place finish

Del Mar, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills junior Bryan Newman (Temecula, CA/College of the Desert) fired an eight-over par 221 (75, 75, 71) over the two-day 54th Southern California Intercollegiate Golf Championships to finish in a two-way tie for 9th place in leading the Toros to an overall 10th-place finish at The Santaluz Club in Del Mar, CA, hosted by UC San Diego.

As a team, the Toros finished 10th among the 19-team field, shooting a 920 over the three days, 41 strokes behind Cal State Chico, which finished first. Individually, Newman was 11 strokes off Cal State Stanislaus' Ryan Thornberry, who fired a 210 (67, 71, 72), to win the tournament by two strokes over Chico State's J.J. Jakovac.

The Toros next compete at the Cal State San Bernardino Tournament, scheduled for March 22-23.-
