Walnut Creek, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills sophomore Zipporah Chase (Los Angeles, CA/Carson HS) averaged a double-double of 16.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per game en route to earning a First-Team All-CCAA nod, it was announced by the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) office.

Zipporah Chase

Cal State Dominguez Hills sophomore Zipporah Chase has been named to the All-CCAA first team.

The team is selected by the CCAA coaches at the conference's 12 schools, all of which sponsor women's basketball.

Chase, a 6'0" sophomore from Los Angeles, ended the season averaging 16.3 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. She currently ranks 2nd in the CCAA and 23rd in the NCAA in rebounding, 6th in the conference in field goal percentage (48.7%) and blocked shots (29), 8th in scoring and tied for 17th in steals (51).

She tallied double-doubles in 14 of her 27 games played, pulling down a career-high 19 rebounds in an 82-65 blowout vs. cross-town rival Cal State L.A. on December 6, which is the third-highest rebound total in the conference this season.

Chase also scored at least 20 points on six separate occasions, highlighted by a career-high 28-point outburst at San Francisco State on January 9.

The Carson HS alum accounted for 30% of the Toros' total rebounds and 25.3% of their total points in leading CSUDH to five-consecutive wins to start the season and a four-game win streak that began in mid-January.

The versatile wing player led CSUDH in scoring, rebounds, field goal percentage and blocked shots, and finished second in steals. She also led the Toros in scoring on 18 occasions and in rebounding in 23 games, including CSUDH's final nine contests. In addition, she strung together six-consecutive games in which she tallied double-doubles in helping the Toros surpass last season's win total by two games.
