Turlock, CA -- Cal State Dominguez Hills junior
Bryan Newman (Temecula, CA/College of the Desert) fired an 8-over
par 224 (73, 75, 76) over the two-day Buzzini / Cal State
Stanislaus Invitational to finish in a seven-way tie for 28th
place in leading the Toros to an overall 15th-place finish at the
Turlock Country Club in Turlock, CA, hosted by Cal State
Stanislaus.
As a team, the Toros finished 15th among the
19-team field, shooting a 924 over the three days, 59 strokes
behind first-place team finisher UC Davis. Individually, Newman
was 14 strokes off Hawaii-Hilo's Nick Mason, who defeated Cal
State Stanislaus' Ryan Thornberry in a playoff to win the
individual crown after each fired a 6-under par 210 for the
tournament.
Toro Dave Linsangan (Paramount, CA/Carson HS)
placed the next-best finish for CSUDH, tying for 35th place with a
225, while Kyle Wilson's (San Diego, CA/Hilltop HS) 235, Francisco
Reynoso's (Compton, CA/Cerritos CC) 241 and Chris Whitaker's
(Inglewood, CA/Inglewood, HS) 246 rounded out the Toro contingent.
The Toros next compete at the CCAA
