Cal State Dominguez Hills
sophomore Cindy Perry has been named to the first-team
Louisville Slugger / NFCA Division II All-Region Team. |

last season, established five CSUDH single-season records in 2004,
including those for most hits (70), most runs scored (41), most
stolen bases (36), most consecutive stolen bases (23) and most
stolen bases in a single game (4).
In addition, Perry led the Toros in batting
average (.380), on-base % (.421), total plate appearances (204)
and at bats (184) as the sophomore speedster batted leadoff in 77%
of the Toros' games this season. She boasted 23 multiple-hit
games, including a season-high 4-for-4 performance versus UC San
Diego on February 27, a season-high five-game hit streak and a

Team. |
Long, also an honorable mention All-CCAA
selection last season, emerged as the Toros' ace this year,
winning a team-high 14 games, including her first 11 contests of
the season. Long was named the Wilson CCAA Pitcher of the Week for
her performance for the week of April 5-11, hurling two
complete-game victories over then-No. 16-ranked Cal State
Bakersfield and Cal State Stanislaus during which she sported a
2.00 ERA, fanned 15 batters and walked none.
The Stockton native led the Toros in ERA
(1.50), complete games (16), shutouts (8), innings pitched (131.0)
and strikeouts (106) in helping lead the Toro staff to an overall
ERA of 1.99. She also fanned 10 batters on two occasions, boasting
an impressive strikeout to walk ratio of 3.41:1.
In leading CSUDH to 33 wins this season, Perry
and Long led the Toros to their second-consecutive NCAA postseason
appearance and first NCAA postseason win in school history by
virtue of their 7-0 victory over CCAA-foe Cal State Bakersfield in
Game #2 of the West Region on May 6, while helping the Toros win
at least 30 games for the fourth-consecutive year.
