CARSON, Calif.-Cal State Dominguez Hills
baseball players Zac Cort (El Cerrito HS) and Jose Montes (San
Fernando HS) were selected to the 2004 All-California Collegiate
Athletic Association (CCAA) Baseball Teams as announced recently
by the league office.
Cort, a senior outfielder from El Cerrito, CA.,
enjoyed a stellar final season in a Toros uniform while earning
All-CCAA Second-Team honors. Cort hit .371 on the year and broke
the all-time single-season hits record with 89. He led the team in
runs (51), doubles (15), triples (2), total bases (123) and stolen
bases (13). Cort also broke the single-season record for most
at-bats with 240.

Montes has been named to the All-CCAA third team. |
Montes, a junior outfielder from San Fernando,
CA., was selected to the All-CCAA Third-Team as he led the Toros
with 39 runs batted-in while hitting .329 at the plate. Montes
scored 42 runs, recorded 73 hits, including 14 doubles while
blasting seven home runs. He was also perfect defensively in the
field.
"It has been a pleasure to coach
these two fine men this year," said Acting Head Coach Murphy
Sua. "They both had great seasons and have a true love for
the game. Zac's energy and commitment is going to be missed, but
we are really looking forward to having Jose back for his senior
year."
